Katie is a managing partner of Expansion Solutions and has over 23 years of experience in progressively responsible executive leadership roles, including both local and state (DHHS) government. Katie has extensive Social Services experience in North Carolina including Director of Social Services in Cleveland County and management experience in both Buncombe and Catawba counties. Most recently Katie was the Deputy Director for County Operation for the North Carolina Department of Social Services. She has worked closely with other Social Services Directors as a Tri-Chair in Child Welfare for the North Carolina Association of County Department of Social Services. Additionally, Katie has worked as a consultant in multiple North Carolina counties and currently teaches an asynchronous class at Appalachian State University working with students who are interested in Social Services and doing her part to positively influence the incoming workforce. Through her experience Katie has developed the ability to partner with others to enhance performance and meet organizational fiscal and client outcomes. She is creative, innovative, and works to meet organizational and client needs. Katie has the ability to create positive solutions to complex problems involving but not limited to the workforce crisis and service delivery specifically in both Economic (Medicaid, Food & Nutrition Services, Child Support) and Social Work Services (Adult Services and Child Welfare). Katie is strong in analyzing systems, changing processes, and finding solutions. She demonstrates robust leadership qualities that encourage others to enjoy working alongside her to successfully achieve the goals they set out to accomplish.

Alice is an operational partner of Expansion Solutions who specializes in new client implementation as well as quality assurance reviews. She brings close to 15 years of supervisory experience in Social Services. Alice has held her current role as the Child Support & Economic Services Program Administrator in Cleveland County for four years. Prior to that she dedicated almost 10 years of service as an Economic Services Caseworker & Supervisor in Gaston County. Alice provides experience in creating, implementing, and managing remote economic services staff outside of normal business hours to support the growing demands of eligibility work. She also specializes in standardized training plans for Adult and Family Medicaid, Food & Nutrition Services, Work First, child day care, and energy assistance. Alice is a client centered leader who focuses on delivering quality results. She brings experience in strategic planning and organizational structural modification that is critical to operational compliance with Medicaid expansion. Her robust experience and technical application has prepared her to offer consultation in staff development and process improvement with a focus on efficiency, quality assurance, and team composition.
